I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at University College London and a UKRI Policy Fellow at the Evaluation Task Force in the UK Cabinet Office. I am also a member of the Cabinet Office's Evaluation Trial Advice Panel.
My research is broadly focused on two areas. First, I am interested in how policymakers make use of evidence to inform their policy choices, and in the processes by which research evidence is incorporated into governmental decision-making. Second, my research also addresses questions about what voters want, how politicians act, and how these preferences and behaviours interact to affect electoral outcomes and political representation in democratic systems. My work is primarily located in the fields of policy evaluation, legislative politics, public opinion, electoral politics, and quantitative methods." >
